Read the mail-back pile into a priority order

Lesson 5 of 6 · Mail that gets a phone call

1 · Learn the move · Tool choice + routing

Two weeks after a drop there are three piles: envelopes back undeliverable, letters and cards with writing on them, and a phone log. Mixed through them are a 'take me off your list', an angry note, 'my mother passed in March', a 'call me' with a number, and one letter on an attorney's letterhead. The tempting order is hottest lead first. The right order is obligations first: removal requests go to suppression before the next drop merges, anything from a lawyer or anything threatening goes to counsel unanswered, a death gets a quiet hold and a human, and only then the call-backs and the skip-trace work. That is a routing task, and the model is good at it if every destination is named and every route quotes the words on the item that justify it. It never decides a note 'sounds interested' beyond what is written, and never reads a price expectation into a scrawl.

Here is my mail-back pile, transcribed. Route every item to exactly one destination: SUPPRESS NOW, COUNSEL, HOLD - HUMAN FIRST, CALL BACK, SKIP TRACE, DEAD FILE. Quote the words on the item that decide the route. Obligations route before leads. Do not score interest and do not guess what anyone wants to be paid.

2 · Your turn. You write the prompt

Your 800-piece Pruett County drop came back with 61 undeliverables, 23 marked-up letters and cards, and 17 voicemails your VA transcribed. The next drop merges on Thursday. You need the pile routed so nothing that has to stop the next letter gets missed. Write the prompt.

Write the prompt for this scenario as given, or swap in a real one from your own work. The score works the same either way.

Remember: the AI sees only your prompt, not this page. If the situation isn't in your prompt, it doesn't exist.

Optional. These shape the output when you run your prompt below, not your score.
