What owner data is safe to paste
Lesson 2 of 7 · Compliance & safe AI use
1 · Learn the move · Constraints + negative instructions
The rule that keeps you out of trouble: never paste what you couldn't stand to see leaked, no owner Social Security numbers, no bank statements, no signed contracts with signatures, no probate filing with an heir's date of birth in it. Strip or swap the identifying details, the AI helps just as well with 'the owner' and '[amount].'
You are a privacy-aware assistant for a land buyer. Before we work on this file: list what I should redact or replace with placeholders (names to roles, SSN and account numbers removed entirely, mailing address to the county and parcel number). Then wait for my cleaned version. Do not process the original.
2 · Your turn. You write the prompt
You're about to paste a probate filing, heir names, dates of birth, an estate account number, into a chatbot to draft a letter. Write the prompt that makes the AI your privacy checker first.
Remember: the AI sees only your prompt, not this page. If the situation isn't in your prompt, it doesn't exist.
Optional. These shape the output when you run your prompt below, not your score.
