The VA hiring ad and the first-week script

Lesson 2 of 6 · Run it like a shop

1 · Learn the move · Audience persona

An ad written for 'a virtual assistant' attracts everyone who has ever applied to one, and in this business the wrong hire is not just slow, they are touching owner records and eventually sending mail under your name. Write the ad to one specific reader: the applicant you actually want, described in plain terms - careful with records, comfortable writing 'I could not find it', uninterested in selling. The persona changes the ad's words, and it changes who talks themselves out of applying. The same discipline runs into the first-week plan. The model does not know your pay rate, your hours, your systems or which tasks you are handing over, and it will fill all four with something reasonable if you let it. Each stays [NEEDS: ...] until you supply it. And whether the person is a contractor or an employee, with everything that follows for tax and paperwork, is a question for your accountant and an employment attorney, never a line the model writes into the ad.

Write a VA job ad aimed at this one reader: [describe the applicant you want]. Use only the tasks, hours and pay I list; anything I did not list reads [NEEDS: ...]. Then write a day-by-day first-week plan built only from my SOPs below. The VA contacts no owner in week one.

2 · Your turn. You write the prompt

You close a couple of tracts a month and you are buried in list checking, parcel lookups and call logging. You want a remote assistant for 20 hours a week. You have three SOPs written and you have not settled the pay. Write the prompt for the ad and the first week.

Write the prompt for this scenario as given, or swap in a real one from your own work. The score works the same either way.

Remember: the AI sees only your prompt, not this page. If the situation isn't in your prompt, it doesn't exist.

Optional. These shape the output when you run your prompt below, not your score.
