The classification thesis: why this parcel, in the record's own words

Lesson 5 of 6 · Buy the classification

1 · Learn the move · Examples + few-shot

Every hold starts with a reason, and the reason drifts. A year in, 'we bought it because the plan shows it as a growth area' has become 'we bought it because it will be rezoned', and nobody can find where either sentence came from. The classification thesis is the page that pins the reason to the record while the record is still in the file: the district, the plan designation, the current-use status, the contiguity, each in the document's own words. Examples do the teaching here, because 'write it from the record' is an instruction the model agrees with and then drifts from. Show it a line done right, a claim with a quote and a source, and lines done wrong, claims borrowed from a flyer or a hope, and say which is which. Then it writes the rest to match. A thesis written this way can be disproved, which is the point. The day a record changes, you know exactly which sentence stopped being true.

Write my classification thesis. Match the GOOD example exactly: claim, quoted record, source. Never write lines like the BAD example. GOOD: 'The plan anticipates non-farm use - future land use designation 'Hamlet Center' [future land use map].' BAD: 'The area is primed for growth and a rezone is likely.' Where no record supports a reason, list it under UNSUPPORTED with [NEEDS: ...]. [records] [my reasons]

2 · Your turn. You write the prompt

You closed on a parcel in Quarrow County next to a lot you already hold, and you are chasing a third. Your reasons live in your head and a text thread. You have the parcel card, the future land use map designation and legend, the zoning record, the current-use record and the deeds you hold. Write the prompt that turns your reasons into a thesis that quotes the record, with examples showing a good line and bad ones.

Write the prompt for this scenario as given, or swap in a real one from your own work. The score works the same either way.

Remember: the AI sees only your prompt, not this page. If the situation isn't in your prompt, it doesn't exist.

Optional. These shape the output when you run your prompt below, not your score.
